I have worked with clients on a variety of issues, including Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Intermittent Explosive Disorder, Substance Use Disorders, Schizophrenia, and Personality Disorders, as well as frequently with those who have Adjustment Disorder issues.
Additionally, I have worked extensively with children who struggle with Oppositional-Defiant Disorder (ODD), Anxiety, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder.
As a Psychologist and a Behavior Analyst, I integrate behaviors principles into treatment of children with behavior issues. The effective techniques of reinforcement, extinction, and punishment are taught to the parents. Parents are surprised at the effectiveness of these techniques. usually replace unhelpful emotional reactivity and ineffective moral reasoning.

I also have often worked with couples on a variety of issues, including sexual concerns, coparenting, and/or generally improving their relationship and communication. I received extensive training in couple's and sex therapy while at the Florida Institute of Technology. This was under the direction of Dr. Richard Elmore, who I consider a mentor. Since that time, I have helped numerous couples and individuals identify their true struggles and consider options for resolutions.

I began working in mental health at a psychiatric hospital as a Mental Health Tech, where I worked for two years while earning my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I then work at this facility for five years as an Admission's Specialist, while I completed Master of Science degrees in Psychology, and Applied Behavior Analysis, and a Doctor of Psychology. As Admission's Specialist, I worked Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from 8pm-8am. This exposed me to a variety of individuals with active mental issues. I consider those times as unique and important to my education helping others.

I am a Licensed Psychologist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and as such, I bring a unique skill set to helping my clients in dealing with challenges in their lives. I am very interested in others, and helping them with the problems they face.

My approach to therapy is to be straightforward, open and honest, mixed with concern and understanding. This is, as I see it, an empathetic reality based approach, coupled with pragmatism. I utilized Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) strategies and techniques extensively in my work with those I see.
